History of Lucite International

Lucite International is the successor to the acrylic businesses of DuPont and ICI.

ICI first began its acrylic business in the 1930's, when it invented the first commercial process for MMA. Later,the business was acquired from DuPont and in 1999 it again moved to Charterhouse

Development Capital who rebranded the business in 2002 as Lucite International.

Lucite TS “sanitary ware” a special grade is developed for use as a bathtub, wash basin, bathroom wall. Lucite TS has a special molecular structure. Resulting in the sheet having good chemical resistance and easily forming Applications such as bathtubs, bottom basins, bathroom walls etc.
